Submitting a successful planning application can feel a bit like redecorating the living room: nearly all the hard work is in the preparation; and, although we’ve provided guidance in good faith, it isn’t intended to be an authoritative statement of the law. So, we strongly recommend that you seek further advice on your planning authority’s website and make contact with your local planning officer.
An excellent starting point in England and Wales is the government’s planning portal. There is a similar portal in Scotland.
